Reviews
- Edited one year agoBetter than a CD for a sure. A bit thin but not much honestly. You'd be hard pressed to get Black Oak Arkansas sounding better. So I dont get why people say "they've heard the originals and they sound better" because they clearly havent on some. A good collection to have. Can be turned up fine. Good colour and flat vinyl. Surface noise is a bit loud on the 2LP but fine for the music.
- just got done listenting to it for the first time. I think overall it's fine, it's a touch thin but overall it's fine. mine defitntley has surface noise between songs, don't hear anything during songs, so that's fine with me, but it's not quiet between songs by any means. Could just be my pressing. I found the edges of the records to be very rough/sharp almost cheap feeling . But overall I'm ok with this album not my favorite pressing but not the worst either.
- Zero complaints about the pressing; however, on my copy, sides C and D both wear a side C label. It'd be simple enough if I could remember that C3 is the broadest ring on that side, likewise D1, but I'll never remember that, so out comes the Sharpie. Sounds fantastic, though!
- Weak digital sound. Listen to the songs on this vinyl and then compare them to the original songs from the bands original albums. Night and day.
- Good sounding record, but not great by any means. Needs to be turned up a bit for sure. Dynamic-ish, but I don’t think it warrants the praise of previous comments. Still happy to have it in my collection regardless.
- Easily one of the best soundtracks from that era. The color is beautiful and the record sounds awesome
- All four sides were very nice to listen to, very pleased.
The semi-transparent color is very nice looking as well. - The records are nice. Pretty. Clean. Quiet. Mine had a very slight warp on record 2. The sound is good. But I have the original records for about 3/4 of the songs. Comparing them side by side, the originals sound far better. Wider soundstages, better separation, and Much punchier! I’m still trying to research this, but I’m pretty sure this soundtrack is completely digitally sourced. The overall volume is quite dialed back. I’m very happy to have this Party record though. I just think it could’ve been better if it were mastered from the original analog recordings of the songs. But hey! It’s a soundtrack from the 90’s so that’s probably too tall an order, to be honest. The average customer will LOVE this. It IS one of the best soundtracks of all time in my opinion
- This pressing is flawless! Dead quiet and the songs sound amazing! Definitely a must buy for fans of the songs and the film.
