- Great album, but this pressing is terrible. I wish they’d press it on black wax instead of 4 different splatter variants
- So I am late to the Durand Jones and the Indicators party but real glad that I arrived at the Private Space. First, musically this is a solid pop soul release, nicely bridging the retro-modern feel. Kinda akin to the Bruno Mars/Silk Sonic bag or updated BNH, maybe just a little more low fit and not as slickly produced. This is good vibe music, maybe for the bbq, or the beach or when you clean the house, slip-this on and let time pass. I have the red nebula vinyl variant and it plays really well. The vinyl is heavy, flat with a minimum of noise. The mastering is overall real good not audiophile quality but still better than average. I will be checking out the rest of their catalog. Nice work and highly recommended.
- Edited 3 years agoGuys what's the difference between this copy and :
https://www.discogs.com/Durand-Jones-The-Indications-Private-Space/release/19854361
Barcode on the back of the hard cover of my copy in the right bottom corner seems right with the other version, but cat num etched on the record is right with this version... Also I don't see any difference in color variations. Red Nebula here and there. I'm confused... - Pretty shocked to see that my copy was off-center. The first off-center record I've seen that's not a shitty Kanye bootleg lol
- Pressings sounds great and it’s a fine arrangement of songs!
Reading the liner notes, says there’s a song called “Closer I Get To You” in which there were string arrangements, but it’s definitely not on the album nor available for streaming. Anyone else notice that? What’s that about? - A solid follow-up to their previous release-- American Love Call. The band expands out a bit with some disco tracks adding a late '70s vibe to their already gorgeous soul compositions. This pressing is at best decent. There is light surface noise throughout and some popping between tracks. I'm going to try another copy to see if this problem persists.
