This EP is absolutely wonderful, the second I heard it, I felt that I had to have it as soon as I could get my hands on it. This is Jungle at its rawest form, and arguably at its preeminent condition in the early 90's. Here, the legendary junglist Bizzy B demonstrates how to utilize the Amen in its most dominating form, and how to employ other famous breaks in awing degrees using the now-primitive tech of the late rave age.
The title track sounds like the best possible way to show a deep love for jungle with its absolutely classic string synths and pings. At about 2:50 into the track begins a simple yet incredibly moving (at least to me) melody and harmony that seems straight out of a futuristic Riviera theme. "The Reel Message Is Power" takes us into a little bit stranger territory with an ominous sample repeating the title and an MC chanting respect towards the massive, and has some great RnB samples over Bizzy B's signature synths. "The Summer Tip" has a distinct lack of the Amen to great effect, with some distant and very stereophonic string plucks with a sound that creates images of a technological rainforest straight out of the Megaman series. "Feel No Pain" is more of a House/RnB track and almost seems out of place on a Jungle record, but it still has that unique Bizzy B sound with the primary synth throughout the song that finishes off the EP in a slower but completing fashion.
This is one of my favorite Bizzy B records, and should go down in the Junglist hall of fame.
