This is very personal: I listened to this album for days and nights. Once even for over a week! Exclusively and without a break.'Veiled Sister' is deep trance, pure bliss, a magical soundtrack bringing an imaginary film to life.... With this sound Muslimgauze has etched deep into my soul, it has become a part of who I am, something I have experienced and suffered in this life, an eternity of black light, hashish rush, bewitched as if by the wine of timeless wisdom... Great is Allah! Praise Jahweh!, Christ is the Lord!!! Thanks for this!
I would give a lot to have the whole album released on wax - it is the pearl in Bryn's oeuvre!
An echo of it appears on the 7min track 'Thugghee' from the 7" 'Nile Quartra' and on others of his works in this period.
A calm but powerful beast that has passed the test of time, over 2 hrs of music and not a single weak moment, each time and a new revelation, give the sisters some time and you will be surprised to what they unveil.
A triple LP edition of this would be absolutely lovely!
Someone needs to press this spectacular double album on wax!!!!!
Excellent, Excellent, double CD!
Edited 13 years agoNo doubt is most beautiful and atmospheric album of Bryn Jones. Album "Betrayal" is also in the same mood but I prefer "Veiled Sisters".
Also worth to check later albums "Maroon", "Mullah Said", "Untitled" and "Arabbox". I believe albums were recorded in 1993 too.
