This is not just one of the best Acid House tracks of all time, but one of the best alternative dance tracks of all time. Cannot recommend this album enough. Strong melodies, beats, and strong neo-psycheldic production makes this song a timeless classic.

Don't know whether Dj defcon is trolling but...
There is no hook ? wth it has an awesome hook, try listen to the perc noises, they are the freaking hook.

Personally i feel Voodoo Ray is THEE original Dance music anthem, we all love it because it marks the start of the Chemical Generation/Raves and all that we believed in, the start of British House/Acid House. It was a floor filler when clubs had ravers on one side and everyone else on the other, its a bit aged now but that's what makes it so special. Not the best track ever, but surely one of the biggest. RESPECT.

This is probably the greatest British house record ever made and certainly one of the most startling original pieces of house music ever created. The paradise ballroom mix is infact one of Frankie Knuckle's remixes which does not get the status or playtime it deserves. Of course the original is superb and just sounds like it was made from another planet but I do like the frankie knuckles remix which I seem to play more often and which is delightful for mixing due to it's teasing & haunting intro.

The Frankie Knuckles mix was favoured by a mate of mine who was a resident at the End nightcub back in mid late 90's :) He knew too :)

There is a frightening genious in this tune. This is the only version I have on vinyl but I've heard a few other mixes and I'm really happy with these ones, particularly the paradise ballroom mix with it's piano break into.
