- What an incredible recording! Wow! This really swings and the sound is near perfect. I don’t know how many albums start with a drum solo, but it can’t be that many and I don’t think any of them would be as good as this. Surprisingly, this is the first Ellington album I have which isn’t Duke with somebody else- and it’s a real eye-opener. I’m hooked.
