We’d already decided to get back into vinyl so I was checking out a record store before I even had the gear. The first thing I saw when I walked in was this box set. Being my wife’s favorite movie (one of many) it was a no brainer to grab it for her birthday. This might be one of the few gifts she actually cried when she got it.

Haven’t made it through the entire set yet, but it sounds good. So far they don’t seem as dirty as some have reported. I just give them a spin with the brushes. Very little popping.

Cleaned all these before playing. So far no issues on my set. Overall I’m very impressed with the sound. I wasn’t expecting this to sound as good as it does.

The talking between tracks from the movie doesn’t really bother me. If anything I think it adds to the listening experience, but I can definitely see why it annoys some.

I really wanted to get this because I’ve always wanted them to press the full soundtrack and because I got the Target color edition thinking it had the same songs as the original release and it’s actually an alternate track list. But now I’m hearing there is a lot of movie dialogue interpolated in between songs. This proved to be a major distraction in a soundtrack such as the new A Star Is Born, so much as to render it annoying to hear for me. How many minutes of dialogue would anyone say this has? Then again I think I’d be less irritated by dialogue of this movie than with the aforementioned recent film.

FYI , you do need to clean these before you play them lots of paper flakes, that aside the mastering is fine enough, nice sounding records bass and vocals are at good enough levels, the presentation out the box is very impressive, all in all I’d say this version is great!

Has anyone put up the limited color one yet? Before I start copying data over wanted to make sure. I searched and couldn't find one...

I think all spoken word portions on this should be generalized with no names because the names are fictional.

Vinyl needs a good cleaning right out of the box. White particles all over the records. Scratches on at least one side. Doesn’t skip but not very good quality control on a box set costing this much. Music sounds great other than the popping sound caused by the scratches.
