Reviews
- Edited 9 months agoTwo completely different approaches to jazz on this album. Side 2 is very proficient, highly accomplished, all acoustic post-bop - mostly uptempo and kind of predictable, though the soloists all have amazing chops. Side 1, though it involves a few of the same players, is energetic, complex, plugged-in funky jazz-rock fusion. Lots of great Fender Rhodes with analog effects, fender bass, a drum break or 2, long solos, congas… you get the picture! Really excellent stuff! Side 1 is the reason to own this album.
