Knowing what was going on between the "Elders" and the "Youngster", and having 10 years under their belts, "The Isley Brothers" released "Between The Sheets"....

Wow, talk about going out with a BANG!!!!

Even though this was a very good and Classic album, it was the last for the "3+3 unit", and rightfully so....Before this album they made 3 not so good albums in "Inside You", "Grand Slam" and "The Real Deal, which means that, at this time, the group had run their course....

It's sad too, because they made some of the best albums in music, but because the "Youngsters" were fighting with the "Elders" on the direction of the Music they fell apart....You still have that mix of "Soul", "Funk" and "Rock" here....But make no mistake, the Slow Jams were the Vocal Point on this album, and that's why they were first on the album.....

The first side was a lovers dream...

I mean really, The Crown Jewels, "Choosey Lover", the Extremely Heavily Sampled "Title Track", and my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE in "Let’s Make Love Tonight", are the reasons why this album went "Platinum"!!!!!

I will say that on the "Funk" and "Roll" side, the 4th and 5th Crown Jewels, "Ballad For The Fallen Soldier" and "Slow Down, Children" are the standouts...

With "Ballad For The Fallen Soldier", the subject matter, and the Melody plus "Ernie" doing his usual Guitar Shedding, makes this a TERRIFIC listen!!!!!!

Even though it was a good album, it was an end of an era....."Ernie", "Marvin" and "Chris Jasper" would go on to form, "Isley Jasper Isley", and become successful with the "Hit" "Caravan Of Love"....That would leave "Ronold", :Rudoph", and "O"Kelly" behind, going back to being the core group....So so sad!!!!!!

Even though they would separate, it is no debate whatsoever on the significance of the "3+3 Unit" in the "Isley" legacy!!!!!!!!
