I noticed on this recording, especially on headphones; When they mixed the stereo version Coltrane's sax is panned mostly LEFT. This was not uncommon as they were trying to recreate the actual 'soundstage'. However when his mic is open the drum bleed into that mic give the drums a more natural sound. When he is not soloing at times the mixing engineer mutes the sax mic, which creates a sudden change in sound of the drums. I found it slightly distracting. But once I realized it was not my system and it was recorded that way it wasn't so bad. Probably less distracting when listening over speakers rather than headphones. A quaint reminder of recording styles for Jazz from that era.

Discogs will be complete when each edition accurately lists the actual duration of Alabama on the individual pressing, 2:23 or 5:05.
