One of the most balanced masterings of the Black Album I have heard. I have owned many pressings of this album, including original and reissues.

I’ve just done an A/B listen with this 2014 reissue - https://www.discogs.com/release/6007719-Metallica-Metallica

Without doubt, my 2014 pressing is better. Much, much punchier lows & more importantly it doesn’t have the super bright top end this one does. You can actually ‘feel’ the kick drum on the 2014 pressing. Both are CB cuts, but definitely different ones, as the runout groove sizes are quite different. 2014 seems to use more of the lacquer, which would make sense.

One of the best sounding records I own. Demands you to stop what you are doing and listen. Everyone needs a copy of this.

Amazing. I’m not a metal fan but this master is incredible.

Believe what others are saying. This is the version you want. Game changer. And I wouldn’t consider myself a fan of the band or the genre per se. Just a music fan who grew up in this era who can appreciate a masterpiece when he hears it.

Jason would approve of this pressing -- the bass could kill small animals at close range. I had my cat leave the room before putting this on.

Good inherent volume and no problems with my pressing. I'd give it a good cleaning or two for the best results. I like how it sounds more dynamic.

Remastered by Robert Ludwig. Mic Drop.

This is a killer pressing dead quiet & I have never heard Metallica like this!

Anyone compared this to the CD version or the marbled lp from earlier in the year??
