I bought this copy a few months ago, today I opened the seal, ultrasound cleaned vinyl and played….there is some kind of low level surface/static noise on right channel, and some pop & ticks from a few dark spots left on golden colour surface (excessive wax?), aside from all these, the sound quality is sort of acceptable, definitely not as good as the Illinois album I have (mastered by Kevin Gray). Since I bought it several months ago well past return period so i am now stuck with this copy.

My copy looks like it was pressed on my grandfather's workbench. It looked scuffed, was pretty dusty, had visible debris embedded. Miraculously, it doesn't sound terrible, but there is some surface noise. Being a folk album, there aren't many loud sections to cover it up.

Quite a lot of surface noise on Side A even after a good cleaning and static removal, which is unfortunate. Also no true inner “sleeve” — given the noise on Side A not sure I’ll even bother using a nicer sleeve on it. The gold wax is certainly a beautiful color. There are a few really small pieces of excess vinyl around the edges (1mm burrs would probably be the way to describe them) but nothing that affects playback. Tracks well and when the surface noise is low it sounds excellent, but unfortunately I’ll probably be sticking to digital for listening and treat this one as more of a display/collection item.

Thought about trying to exchange but talking with other buyers it seems like the Side A surface noise is universal. That’s a real shame because the music is a fantastic piece of work that deserves a lot of playtime.

I've been through two copies of this variant and both were consistently noisy throughout. It isn't little bits of noise here and there either - it's literally noisy through both entire sides.

Hi everyone - this is the label. There are two pressings of this color. One was done up in Canada at Microforum. That lacquer was cut by Kevin Park, and is designated as such in the etching. The sticker is smaller and it will say "Made in Canada" on the shrink-wrap.

The other was pressed at Independent Record Pressing. That lacquer was cut by Josh Bonati.

The surface noise on side A is really unfortunate, almost unlistenable. I cleaned the record twice with a VPI vacuum record cleaner and the noise persists. Side B is decent.

How are people reviewing this album? It just came out yesterday? Just curious if this variant was releases early

Can anyone comment on the quality of some of the pressings that have come out so far? How do they sound?
