What I like about this sound is the fact that it is raw, I mean, there is audible feedback, a sibilant Beth Gibbons voice and noises from an ecstatic public! Real live experience!
All I can say is this performance is mind blowing and equally solid pressing, this record is a gem and a keeper!
Is there any difference, sound-wise, between the Go-Beat! 2008 Repress and the 2012 Music-on-Vinyl reissue?- Edited 2 years agoI avoided this live album back then, because neither did it contain all the songs from the Roseland Ballroom concert nor were all the recordings from that concert. What a strange release. I really don't know what the point of buying this would have been. I already had the DVD with the whole concert, and there was a brilliant bootleg CD floating about that year - which I unfortunately lost.
Edited 2 years agoAs far as the quality goes, it's a great clean pressing, with good bass reproduction, nice placement of instruments, but my only criticism is its a little too mono sounding.
2021 EDIT - it really does sound dire.
The song "Sourtimes" is different in the CD audio version compared with the DVD one, the first one is slower... I prefer the DVD one...- the dvd contains 16 songs... Seven Months, Numb, Undenied, Elysium and Western Eyes add to the Tracklist. All in very nice versions.
