Wow! Like hearing a brand new Bad Brains album. Why they sped up the original release is beyond me, this sound waaaayyyy better, Great pressing, I will never play the original version again.

Well, this sounds like a different record. I only knew the CD I bought twenty years ago, and probably won’t be going back to it. My copy of the LP is totally flat and sounds very good. Quite happy with it.

The remaster is truly impressive. It really is like hearing it for the first time. That said, mine looks like a salad bowl. The bow is completely inaudible, but an auto-return tonearm will scrape side one all the way from the end of the run out to its resting place. Side 2 scrapes just a bit across the last track. If there were anymore in town to be had I would return it for another copy, but four stores in and I haven’t found another one to be had. The sound after all these years does make up the inconvenience, but I am going to label this one so anyone who puts it on will know to raise the needle. Hope it’s a fluke and other copies are flat.

Can anyone weigh in on the sound of this as compared to the OG PVC LP? Is
it worth the purchase or am I fine with 1983 press? Thanks!

It's like a record had been lost for years. Vocals buried in fuzz and distortion. Finally, resurrected. Gritty, but clear and involving. I now understand who the Bad Brains were, born late and past the time to understand who they were. You really do need to pick this up. My 2015 would be on the way to the trashcan as no one should here the album that way, BUT I'm saving it to show my kids what you shouldn't do, and what you should do.

Always loved this record, even the mixes that made no sense and bad CD versions, but this 2021 RM is a vast improvement! Finally, a quality version of one of the greatest records to come out of hardcore.

Really fantastic sound on this. Lots of low end for a punk record. Pressing quality is alright. Mild edge warp and some smudging. Definitely recommended though overall. Finally the original mix is readily available and affordable on vinyl.
