An absurdly overlooked album in the incredible Stereolab discography. It’s a long, kaleidoscopic journey of electronics and jazz, and Pitchfork giving this a 3.4 on release certainly didn’t help individuals who were already thrown off by the premise of the album. However, I feel that this is actually one of the crowning jewels of Stereolabs music and it shocks me how Dots and Loops can be put on a pedestal while this masterpiece is thrown to the curb. Everything about this album just works for me and it feels like a natural progression of their sound. “Overindulgent” is a horrible argument for a band pushing the boundaries of what their music can be. Utterly spellbinding, this record is an amazing experiment for Stereolab and this original pressing is everything you can hope for.

This is a long winded album that still fascinates me. It’s far from easy listening!

Is there any indication of a number, of the 7000 printed on these? Pretty sure this is the copy I have (2x12" gatefold, got it right around release)?

My clear vinyl pressing is pretty good except side 2, which is terrible, because every track has some artifical noises and crackles throughout each song. Unlucky, the clear vinyl has been sold out for quite a long time, so I won't give it back to my dealer to get a decent copy. So I bought the regular black vinyl and that one sounds great. Highly recommended repress.

Pre-orders for expanded version are up on Duophonic, Bleep, Rough Trade and Amazon. Limited clears with obi are long gone. A few clears w.o obi are floating about. Good luck!

Is it just me, or is Blue Milk on here an extended version? It's much longer than the 11 minute version usually advertised.
