    Our store bought a copy recently with a photographed article from 9/5/1980 in the "Rocky Mountain News" stuffed inside. RCA claimed to be pressing 250,000 total copies of the box set (both vinyl and tape sets included in that total.) This was an Associated Press article written by Yardena Arar.

      I think a lot of people miss out on the numbering scheme of this "limited" release. An essential part of your number (except for the reviewer copies) is the preceding letter.

      The letter's are a letter from Elvis's full name. I have seen E L V S A P Y... I presume they have numbers for each letter of his name and all letters start with a low number.

      My copy is S 00049. I think that means there are probably 11 number 49s out there.
