Reviews
- Edited 5 months agoMan, I can't understand why I ignored this crew for so long. Of course I now wear my nostalgia glasses, the sound is predestined for it. Jazzy samples, I feel that 30% of them I have already heard elsewhere, funky, dry beats roll along the turntable, relaxed raps and wordplay, even a bit of beatbox in between, the old school is quoted several times, musically and lyrically. And of course all the cutting and scratching stuff. Is this super innovative? No, it isn´t and that's probably why I left it in the stores at the time and put the few money I had somewhere else. You can´t have them all. But let's be honest, this thing is great fun and celebrates the stylistic devices and mannerisms in a fresh, crisp way. I still prefer Ugly Duckling, quite a similiar cup of tea. On "Fly Love Song" they even used the same sample.
