looking foward to this great SELL OUT 5 cd box set as much as everyone else as well as both the stereo & mono double lp editions, probably the best i have heard sell out ( about my favorite who album since the late 70s now) is the rock classics 200 gram audiophile lp released back in 06, i have many lp & cd versions of sell out,

This edition, while not strictly a Universal/Decca/Polydor product, is the best-sounding one I've heard. It beats the vintage ones I know, along with the more recent reissues.

This is thanks to the excellent mix and track listing of the 1995 remastered CD that is used here, and the vinyl has the same fine dynamics.

Musically, the only downside for me is the fact that 'Rael 2' (correct name 'Rael Naïve') is not at the end of the original album, but this is a highly personal niggle since the first version I knew was the aformentioned CD.

It remains to be seen whether the vinyl reissues that the band will put out in 2021 will improve on it. The announced track lists look to be inferior in any case. However, it is possible that something special will be pulled out of the bag.

Neither the stereo nor the vinyl will have 'Rael Naïve' on them at all though...

i must update my review here of this 2 lp set as 6 years back i was obviously confused when i reviewed this then and said both lps are color blue vinyl AS THEY ARE NOT!! the same label back in 08 did a single lp pressing of this and that IS THE BLUE COLOR VINYL EDITION, anyway this is a really nice eu 180g vinyl copy and the second lp consists of the 1995 bonus tracks that where released on the c d when it was expanded a bit over 25 years ago, anyway this is a beautiful VINYL version of that issue and the discs sound great!!!!! the vinyl lovers label is out of holland so i am going to assume that is where this was pressed, beautiful laminated gatefold sleeve here......

This is evidently a tricky album to get sounding 'right' as it's such a 'hot' sounding album, with a brutal top end. Like some other posters, I've gone through various versions trying to get one I'm happy with. The Gilbert Kong US Decca cut is worth hunting down, and so is this [the Vinyl Lovers/Lillith edition], surprisingly. Despite the source, people should just give it a spin. Trust your ears, it sounds good. Still toppy, but a bit less 'crunchy' than others. Plus the gatefold sleeve and all the extra tracks are a wonderful bonus.

This Vinyl Lovers 2x LP pressing is the best sounding version of "The Who Sell Out" I have heard and I've listened to several of them. It's also double disc so it captures all of what is probably Tho Who's best album. Very nice, worth picking up.

this was a very nice 2 lp set issued on blue viynl out of russia back in 2008, the wax is a nice blue color pressing, as you can see this is the expanded version of this 1967 classic sell out with the second lp consisting of all the 1995 bonus tracks that where issued on cd back then for the first time but since this is about my favorite who lp and era if you are fan enough you may want to spring for the sell out deluxe 2 cd as it has even more tracks then both the cd and lp version of this, if you are an analog person only GET THIS its really nice, it sounds awesome....
