Reviews
Show All 17 Reviews- Finally got it. The first editions i saw had a price tag of 45-50 euros and as a life time record buyer i seem to grow an attitude about the rising prices of vinyl. I still have the price tags of their 2 previous records. Both 25 euros !
(btw i make an exception for MFSL or Acoustic Sounds a.o.audiophile tip on records)
Anyway this one was 34,99. The previous two records seem better but only listened to this one once.
There was dirt from the inner sleeves and a nasty scratch in the dead wax .
It does sounds alright to me. - Edited one year agoI don't know what is wrong with the people complaining about the hiss and whatever it is. It's called rock music for a reason and the distortion is wanted in fact there are tracks on a deeper understanding with the same sonical effect. Maybe u've been listening to too much synth based music only lately. Every instrument is perfectly heard. I slightly tweaked my treble (+) to suit my own listening habits. I was disappointed when i first listened to the album but it grew a lot. It's more suited for a casual listening rather than what found on the previous two albums. I also got this gifted to me for birthday as i found the original pricing offensive and high :P. Listening via audiotechnica at 440 mlb cartridge and beyerdynamic dt 880 600ohm headphones. EDIT: Upon further listening sessions i found out that the sound is a little bit too muffled. The issues with my copy are found across side three but mostly on old skin and wasted! I don't live anymore and occasional rain are good enough.
- Got me checking and rechecking my equipment before I read other reviews here. No pops or clicks but sound is awful compressed and no dynamics.
- I do not understand the negative reviews regarding this pressing. This is mastered at Sterling and a 52 min records stretched out on 2 discs (it’s not unusual to push this on 1 disc). The result is a nice record with a good deep sound which plays very good. It might not be very dynamic but that is the preferred sound of this band and that is what this pressing represents. Very good release.
- music is boring as hell, very disappointing- overproduced an overcooked. very loud and compressed, no dynamics at all. pressing is good, no pops or clicks
- Wonderful album. The music is just fantastic. The sound however is some of the worst I have heard. No dynamics and distortion all through the album. At first I thought it was my system or done on purpose.
I've just checked other sources. Apparently the CD and streaming sounds just as bad. So something went wrong in the mastering process. What a shame. - Ordered on Amazon.it, same edition with flap.
It’s perfect and sounds awesome, very natural.
the record is very very good, too. - Ordered mine from Amazon.nl
Got the black vinyl with the flap on the sleeve. It is however a different version of the one listed here since the number in the deadwax after the MPO logo is different: 21252548.
Also, disc 2 is badly warped so I’ll be returning it to Amazon to have it replaced. Inexcusable at this pricepoint imho. - Very clean pressing and music is wonderful. Only complaint is that music sometimes seems to 'hiss' a little bit (distortion). Like there is too much compression, or with too high EQ levels. It could be done on purpose, not sure. I have a decent stereo set and turntable, and I don't notice this on other records.
