Reviews
Show All 178 Reviews- Two great albums and a bonus album with unreleased songs. The artwork is, as always, beautiful and the red vinyl sounds crystal clear on soft and loud volume. Really a beautiful release.
- so, someone bought this for me as a gift, but I hadn't been around to pick it up until recently... so I just opened it up and there is a massive visual defect on side one of Kid A; it's like a half-dime-sized white spot that I think is debris stuck to the record like a sticker, and that clearly won't come off by itself...
so, that's clearly pretty disappointing - I don get why a lot of people are saying bad things about this LP, for me it sounds amazing, great release
- My copy sounds so good, it seems I don't have any issues that other reviewers are point out.
My Matrix / Runout (Side A runout, etched variant 1): XL 1166LPX-A1 BL35046-01 A1 BAZZA ALCHEMY - I have an EU pressing - pressing quality of Amnesiac and LP is good, Kid A is garbage. The mastering - the bass is waaaaaay to high, come on. For the roll out they did with the Tik Tok videos (over months) I’d rate this release in total D, just a huge disappointment for the fan base.
- Did they really merge the US and EU pressings on discogs? This is getting out of hand. It's almost as if resellers want to obfuscate the differences so that they can offload the vastly inferior US pressings. I'm just glad I was able to order an EU pressing off discogs before this merge occurred.
Don't get me wrong, the EU pressing still has its problems but it's miles above the US pressing. - Mmmm. The highs are so muddy and quiet it’s ridiculous. A lot of pops randomly too. The CD in comparison has great range. Really strange pressing. I tried to resist but hey it looks good 😂
An update. I turned the bass down on my amp way lower than normal and it cleaned up the range overall. This record is cut with way to much low and mid.
Going to try and wet clean but I’m not holding my breath. Did I mention it looks good? 😂
Following a clean the pops and crackles did not stop. Maybe the worst modern pressing Ive heard. We’re they pressing this in a barn?
I’ve returned it and I guess the CD will have to suffice until they fix this pressing in the future. WTF Radiohead! - Great music, horrible pressing. I tried to contact the label and Radiohead but no reply on getting a replacement or anything.
- I received a new red vinyl replacement for kid A. The replacement is great. There is no distortion on HTDC now. It’s much better, but the OG UK 10” is still the copy to own.
