- moonmanic is an assH.
This DVD is gold. If you are a lover of trance (pre-2005), you will enjoy this dvd.
Personally, the music of Tiesto is really expressed from 2h28 to the end.
Great purchase!!!!!!
Tiesto is the greatest DJ in the world. - Edited 17 years agoI really liked The Intro Part, that was just great then tiesto mixing things up was just brilliant but still i do hate the fact that it is only 3 hours short which really affected the overall quality of the show. In the end if you have the will (not to mention possibilities)you would be better going to one of his massive gigs...
Oh and Jan Johnston really made me laugh when she confused Arnhem with Amsterdam... i think it was very smart of the ID&T people to leave that in the overall picture. - Edited 18 years agoAppears we have some mixed perceptions of this DVD...
Personally, I was attracted by the trackisting before I even watched the DVD. a few tracks I hadn't heard plus the majority which I already knew were quality. I had mixed feelings on buying this one.
Pro - The set itself was awesome, the tracks were great and the dynamics provided by the other performances by Andain, Kane, Jan Johnston, as well as the international theme of the concert realy sends the viewer/listener on a journey. Also, the lights and pyrotechnics that were fitted into the Glredome are spectacular; especially the giant neon disc that Tiesto's booth was placed on. Lastly, Tiesto's interaction with the crowd was great. During Flight 643, Suburban Train, and No Regular, the crowd was going nuts. Tiesto went out to the crowd with Kane during "Rain Down On Me". And of course, throughout the whole set, Tiesto kept on smiling, knowing that each track was just another layer of icing on the cake.
Con - The set itself was supposed to be almost seven hours. The DVD only captures three, thus taking away from the set in itself. ID&T decided that doing a little "mixing" of there own would cut the time of the set, when in reality it simply ruins a few track-to-track mixes by taking certain segments and dry-cutting to the next track without even a fade-in. Also, the international theme acts between each set segment were severly abbreviated from there original performances, which was rather disappointing.
It would havfe been better to be there in the front row screaming your ass off. But the DVD, for those of us who don't have the ability to pick up and go to Arnhem when we want to, it suffices. - Edited 18 years agoI am very happy that this performance was made into a DVD, it has brought me so much viewing pleasure I can't possibly sum it up in just a few mere sentences...I didn't bore for a second throughout as the show itself is extremely entertaining and well produced, the set is fantastically chosen and mixed, but most of all I thoroughly enjoyed viewing Tiesto's dancing and many costume changes throughout ;)
- Edited 18 years agoI really feel bad for having spent my money on this DVD. The features that were advertised sounded so mind blowingly great that I felt like I HAD to get it. Don't be decieved by the hype. Tiesto is a perfectly decent DJ, but this would have been better if it were a DJ mixed CD. It's really not all that interesting watching Tiesto at work. There's all of two "matrix shots" and neither of them are particularly interesting. The "alternate angles of the turntables" are few and far between, and really don't show you anything that any DJ worth his booking fee couldn't tell you anyway. There are cool parts, particularly the "world tour" theme and vocalist cameos, but these occupy such a small amount of time on the disc that their appearance is marginalized. Please save your money for something a little more worthy of purchase.
- Edited 18 years agoAbsolutely mindblowing DVD, I wish I could have been there.
An interactive feel for the whole duration, well thought out & moving in places this is one for the collection in my opinion. This shows the reason why tiesto is the number one DJ in the world, his control & interation are second to none & an inspiration to any DJ. 10/10 an ideal after club mood setter!
