One of the most important techno songs in history. Joey Beltram was only 18-19 years old when he made Energy Flash. Amazing song nonetheless.

Went across to Eastern Bloc from Sheffield at the time for this. Played a rave, another DJ nicked it out my bag I later found out. Still don't have it on 12"

OK, so there is the nagging question of, where did Joey Beltram get his sound for 'Energy Flash'....the Bob bob b b bob sound. Well I have the answer, from here ; https://youtu.be/QrnIkjkooBM
..just slowed down a bit. No ? Oh well I gave it a go, you try to do better !

How seriously awesome did this sound in 1990? Really cool one of the first imports I brought.

              707????
Sounds exactly like a 909 to me.
Where did you get 707 from?

I have been told that the Casio FZ-1 was used on this track. I was told it is what he warped the bassline with. I could be wrong though because info is mostly fallible.

To Joey Beltram he was creating a darker, edgier form of House when he crafted Energy Flash, which ultimately split the electronic community's idea of House, creating a new musical discourse that paved a path all the way to the shores of Europe, pioneering a new movement in "Techno." Fantastic track and a must for any collector.

Even non-electronic listeners can appreciate a track like this.
