Don't really see the similarities to Photeks early work like the dude below is suggesting,i mean apart from the choppy break the strings and samples are nothing like Photeks early output (Back to School)...Nevertheless on a side note The Vortex is an excellent piece of work.
Surprised this tune has not had a review yet. Alaska on fine fine form here. Side A provides us with lush far out pads & signature hard choppage we come to expect from Dev. Deep sub stabs & sublime blissful sounds from a tropical island someplace in our dreams combined with those amens = instant jungle heaven! Love this tune a lot as you can tell..
B side ''Invisible'' is equally blissful, melancholy & reflective. Emotive would be a good word to describe a lot of Devs work. Traveling without moving.
More choppage here without the amens, rolling & broken at the same time. Lovely warm bass line that bobs in and out playfully, nice keys in there too reminiscent of Photeks early work.
All in all a fantastic double A side in my opinion, well worth buying I play it regularly even now.
