Slow cooker of a session with usual suspects Kenny Burrell and Donald Bailey on board, Percy France's saxophone is elegant and melodic throughout. Burrell contributes a pair of bluesy originals with "Sugar Hill" and "Come On Baby", and Smith's "Messin' Around" and "Gracie" are also standouts No issues with my copy of this fine pressing, purchased new, and plays flawlessly. Really warm and pure sound, and none of the defects others have mentioned, thankfully. Great album.

My copy has that weird high pitched zipper distortion sound happening. Alot of pressing defects with these blue note classic series vinyl...

This is a great classic series pressing from Blue Note, great sound stage, clear, warm and dynamic! My copy is flat and free of pops or clicks.

My copy is excellent. A perfect, silent and clean pressing. The distribution of the music scene is very balanced. Left sax, right guitar, center left organ. The Hammond feels especially nice and creamy.

Fantastic sounding. I have a Japanese CD and the mastering sounds totally distorted, not on this release. This one's pristine and a flat pressing with no noise at all. Very pleased with this one!

My copy sounds phenomenal and it became one of my favorites in my jazz collection. Wide stage, perfect separation and a lot of dynamics.

Good Music. Experiencing Non-Fill on both sides of this pressing unfortunately

I'm here to testify that good copies of this album exist. Mine sounds all round very good. So don't drive to despair. For the music itself, it's so nice to hear another sax player than Turrentine which I really love by the way. However, thanks to that, we have here something new. Turrentine is more elastic and freewheeling. On this LP, Percy France has such a beautiful tone that makes me thinks about Sonny Rollins and is a better fit here in my opinion. Same thing about Kenny Burrell who is replaced by Quentin Warren on other albums. For me, on this album, the hot spot is "Come on baby" written by Kenny Burrell. Man, listen to this sax ! Also, the outro on this track is simple but stunning according to my music feelings. And for the ones who feel there's a double bass missing next to the organ, there is the album "Blue Bash" (still with Kenny Burrell) to check out. Enjoy this one so long dear music lovers !

This is a great album, but unfortunately I have the same problem as some others with this pressing. Side A has a lot of pop/clicks and some surface noise on all tracks. Still enjoy it, but wish the quality control was better.
