- Karin is a uniquely incredible record.
I don't much care for samples.
Having said that, his use of 'Cosmic Contact' coupled with his staggering original engineering/production places this high on my roster of favorites. - Thomas Brinkmann not only uses seventies music for his soulcenter project; karin's first track is an excellent rework of undisputed truth's cosmic contact of the method to the madness lp from 1976.
- The first track on 'Karin' got a good hearing on the Dan Bell Globus Mix (Tresor) and is a little out of character comparative to many of the other Ernst releases. It still has the minimal approach (others in this series are almost like a synesthetic ode to mathematical equations) but also has a brilliant vocal exchange between aliens and a couple of earthlings that seeps through most of the track(lucky man - getting abducted and all ;). Well worth a check for a more accessible and varied emotive Brinkmann tune.
