Brilliant sleaze and disco masterpiece. Every song is great with state of the art production for the time. This album grows and continues to age like a fine wine. Although it doesn't have any of his big hits, it is one of his hottest moments, and 1982 one of the last great years of disco/boogie before electro/rap started to steal the thunder. This is still going for cheap.

This album is actually just called Back Track, not Back Track 8. The 8 means it's Cerrone's 8th album, it's not part of the title.

By 1982, Cerrone had faded from international view but maintained a busy recording artist in France. While his 8th album "Back Track" couldn't match its excellent predecessor "You Are The One", it was still a quite strong effort. The music was slick but still funky and danceable R&B. This time, singers Nanette Workman and Kay Garner handled the respective lead vocals. Stand-out tracks are "Back Track" (the lead single), "Strolling On Sunday", "Stop On By" and "Anybody Can Do Anything". Cerrone's 1982 version of "Supernature" (the first of his many, many re-recordings) seems a bit pointless though and why "Rendez-Vous" of his misguided "Cerrone VI" album was included remains a mystery. "Tripping On The Moon" was a single release - although Cerrone produced a superior version with Claudja Barry two years later.
