I stumbled upon this for a dollar, threw it in my car, and oh boy. I was just curious to see what this sounded like because I had only listened to the remastered version. I had low hopes. After all, this was a club version, and these types of pressings don't exactly have the best reputation in the collector community. I was pleasantly surprised. This CD seems the have the warmth of vinyl, with all of these songs in their single versions (not LP versions). I like it like that, though, because it makes then entire album a faster listen, which I think should be the entire point of a singles compilation. If you want more than an hour of Marley, just dig into his proper albums. Some of these particular edits remember hearing on the radio as a little kid, and it brought back so much nostalgia for me. I noticed a lot less overdubs than the remix(?) and remaster from 2002. You just hear Marley's bare voice at times, which really speaks for itself and shows how powerful of a vocalist he was. I think I'll probably listen to this more often than my remastered CD. It's become one of those CDs I can't stop listening to.
