Sleeve variation: "The Mutants" screenprinted in "dayglo" phosphorescent green over the black and white sleeve with artist name "MUTNTS".
Labels with large center hole showing Artist as MUTNTS. Side A title printed as "New Darkages".

Some copies exist with a folded newsprint poster (approx. 12" x 24") in a loose plastic bag printed with "The Mutants" in the same dayglo green. These are quite fragile and few have survived.

One of my favorites of the lesser known San Francisco new wave bands, this release sounds a bit more like some of the Athens, GA bands of that time than the more arty or punky Bay Area bands they played with at local clubs. There's a poppy feel to it and a let's party attitude that suggests they are having a lot of fun. Going Down to the Insect Lounge has a catchy sing along New Wave anthem feel to it and usd to get a lot of radio airplay from me in the early 80s.
