Notes
A semi-approved bootleg limited to 500 copies.
• All with silver print on red-brown "TRI•CITY" labels.
• The first covers were various promo jackets pasted over with printed pieces of paper front and back. (Sleeves for Patti Smith, The Blues Brothers, and Gilberto Gil were used, among others.)
Other copies have plain white cardboard sleeves with only the "U-MEN" spiral sticker on the front.
• Matrix numbers on the original pressing [this] are not scratched out/defaced. (Compare X-Mas Concert At Interstate Mall / Live At Club Wow.)
Track-list identified from the audio. The titles are disguised on the labels as follows:
Side One
1. Hard To Start
2. No Problem
3. Mad Doctor
4. 491
5. Help Me
Side Two
1. First World War
2. Random Wages
3. My Back Pages
4. Doris Day Sings
5. Little Skunks
The label on Side 1 reads "X-Mas Concert At Interstate Mall." The label on Side 2 reads "Live At Club Wow." (For the record, there was no such place as Interstate Mall, or Club Wow, for that matter.) Side 1 probably recorded in 1978 at Pirate's Cove in Cleveland. Side 2 recorded on a TEAC reel-to-reel at the WHK Auditorium aka Disastodome, Cleveland, February 18 1978 - the versions of "Real World" and "My Dark Ages" are included in the 390 Degrees of Simulated Stereo live compilation with these details.
This release was re-booted in similarly-stickered plain jackets as a pure bootleg with defaced matrix numbers, and then again as Don't Expect Art (Impossible Recordworks IMP1-07) in 1980. "Don't Expect Art" was an Ubu Communex injunction of the day so the source of the re-boot was probably also a fan.
