Reviews
Dežo Ursiny was a musician, singer and songwriter born in 1947 in the city of Bratislava, Czechoslovakia at the time, and current capital of Slovakia. It is considered one of the pioneers and most important names in rock in the country, beginning his career in music during the 60s, playing and leading several groups of beat rock, as The Beatmen and The Soulmen. He began his solo career in 1970 and released their first LP in 73 and is owner of a long discography. In May 1995 Dežo passed away due to cancer .
Post here the debut Ursiny, the LP Provisorium, considered the best of the artist and recorded with several former members of the band Flamengo. Brings a great and ambitious (for the country) progressive rock, with clear influences of jazz fusion. It consists of 4 tracks, sung entirely in English and highlighting "Christmas time" , 19 minutes, with some more complex and beautiful arrangements and long instrumental passages. On side B sound approaches to the British prog of the time, most notably the vocal Ursiny. Instrumental in highlighting the guitar (played in jazz style), few isolated passages of flute, sax , organ, piano and drums, with a solo on the last track .
Overall, a beautiful album, but without a lot surprises. Recommended for fans of progressive rock.
