A community project started in 2016; Sapucaia + Bulbosa together are 23 Hectares of land located at the foothills of the Chapada Diamantina national park. The Mata Atlantica rainforest had been cut for coffee plantations decades ago. Once the soil was drowned of nutrients, it was turned into grazing land for cows, slowly leading to erosion of the soil and depleting the surrounding water sources. A common trend of many areas that lie just outside the limits of the national park. Chapada Diamantina is a small and fragile oasis, and a main source of water for millions of people in Bahia. Our first priority was to restore the riparian forest fringing the river.
๐ฑ AGROFOREST
We decided to plant an agroforestal system in order to regenerate the degraded ecosystem, by doing so we would manage to protect the water, and by the same occasion be able to harvest fruits in the future. Inspired by Syntropic Agriculture, we planted with the help of our neighbours about 50 types of trees: fruit trees, native trees, trees for pruning and trees that would grow tall and give shade in the future, on 250 square meters of land.
๐ด REFORESTATION
In the second year, we focused on reforestation and replanting the area located above the spring. Experimenting with native species and without an irrigation system, we planted about 100 Trees on a slope above the spring, on very degraded land, which should create more fertile conditions for future plant diversity, start balancing the soil and maintain vital humidity to prevent the source water from drying out.
๐ฟFUTURE PLANS
We work in collaboration with the local community of the valley, learning this process of regeneration together. The money collected would go towards maintenance of the agroforest, to the recently established cultural centre and to the continual reforestation of new areas of the land. Revitalising the conditions for it to flourish how it once was as part of the Mata-Atlantica rainforest.

The very bulbous studio began construction in 2018. With the intention to be used as creative communal space for deep listening, communication and awareness of our internal and external ambience. To explore the symbiotic link between musical expression and the surrounding environment, and to cultivate a collaborative interaction with all living organisms.
Built using a bio-construction technique called hyper-adobe. Money raised on this compilation for the side of the studio will go towards putting a much needed protective layer of clay on both sides of the studio wall and also complete the construction of the bridge to the grass roof of the studio.
