Show All 13 Reviews- My copy seems to be just fine no sound issues. No pops and no wobble. It could use a little tighter "mids" but overall considering it is a color vinyl I am pleased to have it in my collection and sound pretty good on my system.
- Agreed with the previous comments. This pressing is not very good. Had some notable surface noise on "Ice Castles" and the whole thing makes me feel like I have a cold. It's like some frequencies are being clipped off, I dunno. Whatever happened to the 2020 Plain press? It's not listed on here.
- I hear so many people shit on Plain that I get scared buying pressings from them. I really shouldn't listen to vinyl purists because this pressings sounds absolutely perfect to me lol.
- I received a sealed copy very recently and it has a decent-sized DENT on the B side. HOWEVER, the pressing sounds fine, somehow even while passing over that spot. Very surprising but that is my only issue with this dreaded Plains press. Sound quality is fine throughout.
- Dear Weeners,
I just received a 2020 Test Pressing of this one from RTI pressing plant and it is incredible! I compared it to the 2009 TP (which as many reported is incredibly bassy and muffled) as well as the 2020 US CD (which is good), and the 2020 RTI is what you've all been waiting for! Not sure when it will be distributed or if it already is but you must get it to believe it. - This specific record sounds flawed, but definitely more on the good side. It sounds a little bit too heavy on the low-end, HOWEVER, if you turn the treble up and bass down a little bit it sounds excellent, in my opinion.
- Awful mastering job on this pressing. Don’t bother, buy the CD version instead. This is garbage. Mine is clean and quiet, not noisy at all like others have mentioned. It just sounds extremely dull like there is a blanket over the speakers.
- really wish Schnitzel had the rights to all Ween stuff... I have their Pod reissue on grey vinyl and aside from the jacket feeling nice and the vinyl being pretty, it sounds awesome!
- Edited 3 years agoBought a used copy of this LP and ran it through my VPI cleaner. Sound is great, quiet passages, and the white vinyl does have some imperfections in it, but that's fine with me. Great record too!
