Reviews
- PEETER VÄHI - THE PATH TO THE HEART OF ASIA (Erdenklang 20602) CD 49m
Even the past works I'd heard from Peeter hardly prepared me for this! Featuring musicians of the ensemble Orient 92 this is a most unusual and truly cross-culture breed of many musics: European, Indian, Oriental, Tibetan, almost any Euro-Asian ethnic music - you name it, it's in here somewhere. How on earth I can describe a concoction as this I don't know! There's certainly an electronic presence, yet the acoustic elements are as strong, it's both atmospheric and dynamic, featuring lots of ethnic instruments I've never heard of! All I can really say is that this is alluring and unique.
