Reviews
- Has anyone done a direct comparison between this Acoustic Sounds release and the Analogue Productions 45 RPM reissue?
- Beautifully clean and quiet pressing, the gatefold is nicely made and very glossy!
Music isn't bad, too! - Amazing pressing, dead quiet, dynamic. I don't know if this is indeed from the analog master tapes but it doesn't matter. It sounds awesome! And people, remember. This is an old recording, there are "mistakes" by today's standards. So don't complain if the piano player hit a chord harder and you can hear some distortion... it's okay :)
- Sharing the praising of my previous commentators. Great enjoyment for money. However, like eg in the Crescent reissue of the same series, Coltrane blowing the very left into your ears can somewhat annoy over time. The fuller sound of this recording eases that off a bit. Still, the mono would probably be the ultimate preference. Still a 9.5 out of 10.
- There were many pops and crackles when playing my copy of the record right out of the sleeve. After a quick clean with some solution and my discwasher, I still heard a significant amount of noise. But after a wash in the spin clean and a dusting with an anti-static brush, the record played dead silent. Now I can really enjoy the excellent quality of this pressing.
