B.J. Snowden – Pete's Candy Store

As a contributor to Discogs, I started to work a lot on B.J. Snowden's page. I thought I was finished; but then I stopped to think, "Maybe I should contact B.J. and ask her if there was any more releases". And that's exactly what I did. I went to her website, got her email, and contacted her. To much of my surprise, she responded! And she said in return, "Everything except 'Pete's Candy Store'." So I asked, "Where can I find out about this release?" because there was absolutely no information online about this item. So B.J. Snowden said, "I will send it to you." So I gave her my address and a few days later, there it was! On my doorstep. We both agreed that it got there very fast considering we both live on the other sides of the United States. We were surprised.

So I opened the package up, which was emblazoned with "Fragile" all over. So I ripped it open, and there it was; 'Pete's Candy Store' alongside a folded note that read, "Enclosed is a copy of Pete's Candy Store - BJ". I immediately added "Pete's Candy Store" (this page) to Discogs. Then I uploaded the CD to my iPod.

I listened to it and was pleased with what I heard. A great single, and would be a great addition to any novelty music collector's collection. It's also very lo-fi, and Snowden's piano can be heard echoing through the room in which it was recorded. If you are not into lo-fi and prefer high quality music, this is probably not for you.
