- Edited one year agoThere are a couple of good tracks on this EP, but the standout is obviously the Larry Heard mix, with vocals from the man himself. The song was due out on Alleviated before it was accidentally leaked on a torrent site. Larry was furious and sold the track to Innervisions, wanting nothing to do with it ever again because he thought no one would buy the record on Alleviated since it was already on everyone’s hard drives. A big mistake IMO. Musaria, the man behind the production, moved from Memphis to Asheville and went dark. That’s the story.
Please repress this gem and let us have the song. - Deja-Vu is that track you'll wonder about after the club - that track that came up around 2am just when things were getting darker and harder, and suddenly the entire room felt warm and smooth, and your body just went with it. If there is one record you buy on Discogs, let it be this one. 5/5
- Edited 14 years agoL-O-V-E (Tuff City Kids Remix) by Boom Clap Bachelors is a perfect get-together between some modern kind of melodic synthpop, shiny balearic spirit in the soulful-tronic voices and a ruffer, louder classic 4-4 house treatment on the beats. Like a "housified" version of the best Royksopp tunes, it borrows from these obvious sources to make something fresh and strong enough to be more than just a homage, and certainly deserves the "Secret Weapon" tag.
