I got mine in tiny front room Cherry Red shop/Malvern 1980 as part of a bundle of ten singles for £3 which is how they used to get rid of stuff they couldn't sell. Ironic, as over the years most of those obscure DIY 45's in Cherry Red bundles have become the priceless collectables. Lost mine years ago. Anyone out there who wants a decent price for a nice version please contact me. I've always kicked myself for letting this comp go. Loved the Friction track but they were all good.

I remember listening to John Peel when he played "Murder" by Friction with the immortal line "Sid Vicious/what a name to state/when you're up before/ a magistrate". Loved the whole song that feels a lot like Zounds on Valium. Went to Rough Trade that weekend to buy the EP on the strength of that track - got it half price because they didn't have the proper sleeve. All four tracks are actually very good, but "Murder" is a standout.

I found this record in my collection. I have no idea where it came from or how I obtained it. No memory whatsoever.
I used to buy tons of punk and post-punk 7"s every week back in the late '70s but this one rings no bells at all. Strange.
Not only that - I have never played it.
        Perhaps I'm going senile.
