Dead quiet, perfectly flat. An intimate and intense performance of a surprising selection of standards and some unexpected tracks. Really enjoying it.

Mixed feelings about this one - the press itself is flat, quiet and the packaging and booklet are all top notch BUT it's fairly lifeless and too quiet. Last year's Behind the Dykes I would argue is a more dynamic listen. Glad I didn't pay over retail for this one (especially since retail was pretty high anyone). Of the jazz releases for this RSD - I prefer the Art Pepper and the Pepper Adams for sure.
Mine (num 5660) has a small warp on disc 1 only but is quiet and noise free, only disappointment is that this and Morning Glory are mono, for live I feel you need stereo to feel that you are immersed and "there". If I'd known I probably wouldn't have bought them at the price asked.

Neither noisy, nor quiet. Sounds similar to BG's 75th anniversary analog to digital work for BN. Still, the restoration and mastering are excellent, and the playing (especially the latter disc) is exquisite. Maybe turn up mid-treble; Labarbera's drums are subdued. Your $ is yours to spend freely, but wouldn't be happy with spending too much over the MSRP for this one.
Be interested to see the numbers out of 6500 of those who had bad copies...my guess is they're randomly dispersed. I really want to pull the trigger on this one, but I'm batting five hundred on Resonance titles as it is.

Absolutely fantastic! My discs were flawless, didn’t need to clean them, dead quiet, terrific recording, and sounds divine. Very sorry to the few that got some imperfections, but mine is a home run!

These are not great pressings. I cleaned both discs on my Hannl RCM before playing. Lots of light scratches, surface noise and pops remained, many that repeated across extended musical passages. What a pity. This really mars what is otherwise a fabulous performance. Fortunately I can engage my Sugarcube and the surface noise is removed without a trace. What a massive difference it makes when all of the ticks and pops are gone. Then it's a joy to listen to.
opened both today, this one and morning glory. there are fingerprints, scratches, stains, the whole program. on both records. very very very disappointed.
will have to wash them on my expense and then listen. at the moment i just don't want to.
