- A world broke for A world broke for me when CL & Pete broke up, but this first solo joint from the soul brother is quite the ish, even if I totally miss CL, apart from the only and AMAZING get-together-again track "Da Two"! They where just pure gold - one of the greatest tag teams in hip hop history! Mr. Phillips laced some crispy fine beats and funky atmospheric loops for some hot MC´s here, "Tru Master" with Inspectah Deck blew me away back then and still kicks in, great are "Tha Game" with more Wu and Prodigy, "One Life To Live" is such a great east-west collabo with some simple wisdom on the hook, "Strange Fruit" is dusty dry and elegant at the same time, you name them, and overall, it perhaps still is the best solo work from Pete Rock! Classic!when CL & Pete broke up
- Probably the most consistent hip-hop album ever for me. Such a shame that there isn't an instrumental version of it.
- Instant Classic with mostly melodious, soulful Hip-Hop-Tracks, that features Rap-Legends as OC, Kool G Rap and Rock's Partner in Crime, CL Smooth.
