- Finally got time to listen through this one in one sitting. Great record again, obviously another grower from KV, but that's all good. Sounds great on my system, dynamic and quiet. Cleaned with ultrasound machine (Humminguru).
(And seriously folks! Commenting that another pressing was "noisy" really does not help anyone.) - I’m not able to like it a lot. Rather disappointed …. I like almost everything he did.
It’s not important to discuss how it sounds, in my opinion - My copy sounds amazing. Dead quiet, no noise, it’s one of the better sounding recent releases in my collection. The music itself of course is absolutely fantastic
- Yup. You can feel the background noise mostly in side A, but besides that, the record sounds GREAT. I'm not thinking of returning this "just" for that. It gives an oldie sound though 🌈 and Kurt Vile really shines with this album, is freaking amazing!
- Eine absolute Kaufempfehlung für diese Platte. Kurt Vile ist eine "coole Socke"- for sure!!!
Eine durchweg hörenswerte Platte. Klarer, warmer Sound und eine super Pressung ohne knistern oder rauschen.
Anspieltipps: Like Exploding Stones und Fo Sho - Edited 2 years agoVery disappointing pressing of a fantastic album. After a careful cleaning, my copy is still distractingly noisy through the first 3 songs, and I mean constant noise. I don't know how Verve can put these out and charge money for them with a straight face. The packaging is great, but the quality of the pressing is poor. To boot, there was weird residue and dust stuck to the vinyl upon opening. I am aghast at the lack of QC. It's getting increasingly frustrating dealing with these issues on new releases. I love KV, so this makes me pretty sad. The quality here is unacceptable. Period.
- Had those awful paper inner sleeves again. A few surface scratches when removing the records from the sleeves. The only way to get the records out without scratching them might be to cut them out. Also needed a good cleaning before playing. There was a few pops but nothing too bad though on playback. The record sounds good though. But these paper sleeves are really a killer for me as they damage the plastic, but maybe that is the point. But it really is going to sink the vinyl revival long term if they keep this up.
- I'll go against the crowd and say my copy sounds great! Honestly surprised to come here and see all the negative reviews, this sounds borderline audiophile grade to me. Really enjoying the sound on this record. Ran it through the spin clean before playing it, maybe others copies are just dirty and need a good wash?
