One of the very first full-length "albums" in the hip-hop genre. Up until this point, the genre had mainly consisted of singles. Although this album is rather dated and primitive by today's standards, it's still a milestone in the genre. Essential listening for any hip-hop fan. I own this original pressing and it sounds great!

OK so I just want to confirm that the release that was sold in Canada is the same as the US release??? I bought my copy back in in 1984, maybe '85... and it is this exact pressing. Bottom, back side of jacket says, 'JACKET MADE IN CANADA' but vinyl does say 'Manufactured and Distributed by Profile Records Inc., 1775 Broadway NY, NY...'

Any plans for Music On Vinyl to reissue this??? They did KING OF ROCK and RAISING HELL on 180g in 2013!

This is the very original pressing incl. the 3 line etching stamp in the runout groove of side B:

...the later pressings got only the hand etching (no "mastering stamp").

The debut album from Run-DMC. It made a mark in the hip-hop industry as well as Afrika Bambaataa, Grandmaster Flesh, Grandmaster Caz, and Kurtis Blow did. This is a classic album.
