Reviews
- My favourite Toro album (a fan since Causers Of This). His most rock/psychedelic leaning album so far. On my platter this plays like an Unknown Mortal Orchestra album; (who features on track 1… and sets the tone and intention here), the muddy and lo-fi mix are absolutely by design.
I love artists that build a deep catalogue of varied styles and material… it’s pretty cool he is making a diversion from his usual beats/dance driven electro indie style and doing a 1970’s/early Tame Impala/UMO influenced album. Most artists start off rock and then evolve into dance music… this is such a great change for Toro to flip the script and give us something different and among the best of his career. - amazing album and it sounds good, but my pressing has little to no silver. in reality it’s just clear with silver marble. but other than that amazing packaging.
- Weirdly enough, I bought the indie version in my local record store, sticker on the sleeve indicates it's the silver version and I got a clear vinyl instead (which appears to be the Urban Outfitters exclusive version).
- This sounds extremely flat and almost a little muffled. But I guess that was a choice in mastering because the Ultra HD version on Amazon Music sounds exactly the same. So yeah, great pressing I guess? Maybe not the best thing to have on vinyl. Otherwise a beautiful pressing with only a tiny amount of surface noise here and there (comes in a paper sleeve so probably needs a wet cleaning).
- Silver vinyl is very nice, pressing arrived flat and clean, labels centered. Plays clear and dynamic… oh… and it’s another great Toro y Moi release!
