Don't get what's with all the negative reviews. I first heard 'The Split' on some mixes from around the time of release. Yes, it's not the most sophisticated of records, but, like Hip-Hop, it takes some obvious and some slightly more obscure samples and turns them into something a little different and great fun.
Funky Gangster has some slight 'melody clash' but so what.. it's almost lo-fi and from what I understand this is Zackey's earliest work, which he started quite late in his (rather colourful) life and never took it too seriously - neither should you. Just enjoy the vibes and feel the grooves.
And if it means searching out the original samples and discovering new music because of it, then all the better. Aswell as enjoying a music 'career', Zackey is also putting his engineering skills to good use, and working long hours for one of the most innovative space age companies. Good on him! Keep up the great work!
A2 is actually music that was created by Harald Großkopf not ZFF. The track is from the album Synthesist (1980) and the track is called "Emphasis". The track has been completely butchered by ZFF by throwing some whisper-hipster vocals on top and calling it Bombs. Note: It's rather disappointing that no credit has been given to the orignal artist (Großkopf) and that ZFF continue to believe that they have made this music that they have clearly not made. They (ZFF) just talk over the Großkopf track. (e.g.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aif9zRCEqYM)
