bought this pressing from a guy on facebook marketplace for $30 plus shipping. felt like i robbed him. phenomenal pressing, feels like if MoFi did hiphop. 10/10.
Wow, I just compared this to a few different older pressings of singles and compilation tracks. Sooooooooo much better than any of the other sources. The highs shimmer, vocals are clear and spacious. Can't speak on other older pressings of LET, but this amazing stuff. I'd love to replace my OG Midnight Mauraders with VMP of this quality.
Mine is dead quiet. Powerful bass. Midrange is so vivid and dominate without being overbearing. Top end is a touch rolled off and smooth. I'm digging this much. I typically question any sonic need for rap (and other genres) on vinyl. In many cases it doesn't sound better on wax. This one does.
I wonder if this one sounds so good on vinyl because of VMP's work, the sound quality of the original, and the fact that much of this was originally done including samples analog--or more analog than we get today. Ergo, less compression in the samples and beats.
I didnt care much for VMP (probably because I'm not in US) but since I got my hands on this one I can see I made a big mistake. Already planning to replace some of my records with VMP pressings. Fantastic stuff.
