Reviews
- This record really awakened me to the flute as a versatile jazz instrument. As an experienced flautist, I really never liked it in anything other than classical music. Guys like Ian Anderson in Jethro Tull tried to utilize it in rock and pop, but without that purity of tone for which the instrument is at its best. Hinze has that sound and his experimentation with African beats and melodies on this record is just sublime. Please, please, please give this record a listen if you can find a copy. It was also released on CD as well as the double LP version, both of which I have.
