So I was expecting to be disappointed after reading some of these reviews, but what can I say? My copy of this pressing sounds fantastic, it totally rocks. Perfect soundstage really, nice dynamics..vocals and instruments all sound full and rich..the vinyl is absolutely quiet to boot, and flat. I really could not be happier. I also have an original American CRC pressing, and it sounds pretty rough compared to this one, lol. As others have said, the colors on the cover are a little different than on the original pressings, but I think that's kind of cool that they are not exactly the same
Tad bit closed and compressed but doesn't sound awful. The disc itself is flat. Paper sleeve, so a bit of dirt but it cleaned up well. Minimal noise. I think it's a good budget copy if you're a fan of the band, but if you want the best copy of this album on vinyl, you're going to have to spend more. I got lucky recently with the 2015 Van Halen remasters that are amazing so was hoping to continue that luck here. Unfortunately, this doesn't sound quite as good (and its the same price as the VH RMs) but if you're not listening critically, it will work just fine and save you some coin.
The great debate for Def Leppard is whether this record or Hysteria is the better of the two. Why fight about it? They are both fantastic in their own way. This is a very clean pressing with a good soundstage but I really wish they would have stretched it over at least three sides instead of two. I feel like there is just a little missing that a less compressed wax might have revealed. Regardless, this is a fantastic presentation of this album.
This is a really good remaster. In contrast to my original LP, it lacks just a tiny bit in dynamics: it's a little brighter and lacks a tiny bit of the original ooomph, but it's close. A worthy reissue and remaster imo.
This is a superb reissue the lp is clean and flat!!! By the sound i was very surpriced!! Warm full and fat sound even in the high areas there was no harsnes imo superb mastering
Very nice, clean pressing. I’ve been looking to replace my old original copies for some time. Still… I give this 4/5 stars. It’s quieter than the original, for sure. Sounds great! But the original was a hotter mix. This is hard rock, so this record should bang! But… turn the volume one level higher on this one. The cover art is Very dim and less vibrant than the original! I have a near mint original and comparing the 2 side by side, the colors were much brighter on the original. The building (for example) is bluer on the OG press. I’m swapping out covers to solve that, cuz my OG cover is Mint. My favorite 80’s album by a hard rock band. Lots of memories tied to this album for me. I remember begging my Mom to buy this record for me at Sears back in ‘83. Def Leppard’s Best in my opinion.
