- The Southey Woods EP was recorded by The Brainstorm Crew based in Peterborough. It was produced using only basic computer and mixing equipment and recorded to DAT before being pressed by Whitehouse Records. The pressing was limited to 1,000 copies with only c 800 being distributed. Quality of the pressing was not as per the original master DAT however.
The EP is named after a local woods in the Peterborough area known for gatherings after club events. This is where the original cassette demo's were played. - There are 5 copies in existence that were signed by each member of the group. This was then confirmed by Richard Elliott when he joined b2vos a few years ago.

- Edited 12 years agogreat release every tune is pure old skool darkness at its best but without being moody. as for the quality of the pressing sure my copy is a little bit quiet but nothing that turning up the eqs abit wont fix
- Edited 14 years agoRE:below - My copy is fine - sounds how it's supposed to...just a slightly quiet press.
Solid EP...great production, funky as hell but with a techno edge : )
'Soothin' is my fave - distorted TR-909 hits really well programmed..shame about the tempo change sections [loses about 30bpm]...always catches me out DJing! - Edited 15 years agoThere is at least 2 tunes on this piece of wax that are well worth having in your old skool collection, only trouble is the pressing is one of the worst ive ever had the misfortune of owning. It's so quite it isnt even funny and how any DJ is going to make use of this is beyond me. Awfull Pressing Truly Awfull! Amazing Tunes though just such a crying shame the volumes crap.
Do not be fooled into paying the stupid prices people want for this record it's really not worth it and im not the only person who has a rubbish pressing of this!!!! BEWARE AND BE WARNED! WORST PRESSING EVER!!!!!! The 1st Tune on the AA side is a wicked tune though!
