Reviews
- Just discovered this cd online and took a chance that it was different, I think it is fantastic. I like heavy rock and I like the Black Crowes. It's great to see bands trying other bands songs and making a good job of it. I like the originals but when other good musicians play the same songs I enjoy their efforts. The bonus for me is this was done in the seventies >I love the seventies music( I hate 1the 80's disco shit). All of the best music was created in the 60's/70's periods
- Quiet pressing. Sounds good. I wouldn’t say great. Papa Was A Rollin Sone is the high point of the album, there is some good separation and 3D sound stage on that track. You wear It Well has some good separation between the electric and acoustic guitar. Most everything else on the album is mixed toward the center and very straight forward sounding. Not great definition on the rhythm guitars for most songs. Not audiophile, but good.
- Inner sleeve is printed paper, so record was noticeably "dirty", but played fine after a quick brush sans wash. I'm sure it'll play even better after a quick wash. No complaints. Sound was good.
- Defective with manufacturing flaw/skip in our batch.
See below for other problems with this pressing. - Got mine at the Red Rocks show this week for $25 sounds great and what a show 15 rows back by sound board!
- Would anyone be able to tell me if this was also released on silver colored vinyl? I spotted a number of retailers advertising it as such but have never been able to confirm either way (and it's not listed on Discogs). I'm wondering if the name of the label has caused some confusion. Many thanks!
- Edited 2 years agoI pre-ordered mine through my local record shop and it arrived in excellent shape. Vinyl is almost perfectly flat, sound quality is really good, not audiophile but pretty damn good! I am very pleased with this pressing considering how basic it is. No gatefold, no insert and not even a hype sticker on the shrink at all.
