- Ok I'll contribute to the hype on this. These guys played at a little Teahouse in Charlottesville, Virginia in circa 2004, touring this record. It was already somewhat hot on independent radio (WTJU) at least to the electronic DJs (me and a couple overnight free-form players.) The Teahouse somehow picked it up, and I provided the sound system.
Anyway they were super cool. Consummate but super-chill performers. One of them sat on the floor alternating between plucking a bass guitar and minding his laptop and gadgets. Can't remember the other guy's disposition except he was standing.
This record is worth the hype because it captures that post-millennial optimism, and the compositions of this duo, accurately, emphatically.
