Reviews
Show All 55 Reviews- First of all goes without saying that this is one of the greatest albums and I have loved this since its release in 1989. In terms of this copy the sound is so huge and cavernous - maybe thats the way it's been mixed but I've had this a couple of years now but I'm struggling to find the right settings to avoid muddiness.
- one of the best, most greatest albums of all time. there is absolutely no bad song they can put out. they are a legacy. the second i saw they had this at the record store i felt my eyes physically turn heart shaped and i knew i had to have it. found even more love for the cure i didn't know i had. truly a musical history moment
- hopelessly drift
in the eyes of the ghost again
down on my knees
and my hands in the air again
pushing my face in the memory of you again
but i never know if it's real
never know how i wanted to feel
never quite said what i wanted to say to you
never quite managed the words to explain to you
never quite knew how to make them believable
and now the time has gone
another time undone
hopelessly fighting the devil
futility
feeling the monster
climb deeper inside of me
feeling him gnawing my heart away
hungrily
ill never lose this pain
never dream of you again - Side B of my copy has an audible hiss throughout the entire side. When the music is loud, you can't hear it, but it's definitely there before and between tracks. Side D is also noisy. Disappointment.
- This pressing is absolutely perfect...I've had it the day it came out and if you are having issues with the quality check your cart alignment ect..
- Absolutely stunning sound! I have the 1st US pressing which IS very good, but this 2-LP pressing allows the dynamics to breath a lot more, thus sounding much more dynamic and fuller. HIGHLY recommended!
- Didn't sound too bad until it got to Homesick. The cracks and pops are so bad especially in the quiet parts.
- not sure why so many people are saying their pressing sounds terrible, maybe i just got lucky! my pressing sounds amazing. very little to no noise on the quiet parts and none during the louder parts. judging by the other reviews, i'd say this record is hit or miss, but personally i love mine.
- I just received this in the mail, but it says "Made in France" on the back, It also says 2010 repress in the fine print - I do not see an option on here for a 2010 European pressing, can anyone confirm if their copy has this? I'm not having the surface noise issues, but the sound is a bit muddier than I expected. Just wondering if I should return and get the 2020 pressing. Any input would be helpful. Thanks!
